Mildred ''Millie'' Virginia Barnes, 83, of Castalia, died Wednesday, October 23, 2013.

Millie, a native of Northampton County, was the daughter of the late Pete and Ruth Floyd Moody. She was also preceded in death by her daughter, Jennie Lynn Lewis, and three sisters, Bennie Boyce, Teresa Conrad and Earline Smith.

Millie is survived by her sons, William Ronald Lewis and his wife, Mary, of Venice, Florida, Marshall Vance Lewis of Atlantic Beach, Charles Michael Lewis and his wife, Sheila, of Chesapeake, Virginia; stepson, Mitch Barnes and his wife, Dana, of Missouri; two brothers, Elbert Moody and his wife, Louise, of Greensboro, and Pete Moody and his wife, Maxine, of Gaston; seven grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.

A funeral service for Millie will be held Saturday, October 26, 2013 at 2:00 p.m. at White Level Baptist Church in Louisburg with Rev. Henry Stamper officiating.

Burial will follow in Cedarwood Cemetery in Roanoke Rapids.

The family will receive friends at the church on Saturday from 1:00 p.m. until service time.
